GENERALLY SPEAKING ANYONE WHO COOPERATES IS NOT GUARANTEED A REDUCED SENTENCE UNLESS IT IS A 'BINDING" PLEA.   USUALLY THE PLEA IS "NON-BINDING " AND THE JUDGE HAS FINAL SAY SO ON WHETHER TO ACCEPT OR REJECT THE PLEA AND THE JUDGE MAY OR MAY NOT REDUCE THE SENTENCE.   THE PROSECUTORS MAY RECOMMEND A LIGHTER SENTENCE AND USUALLY THIS GOES A LONG WAY  BUT THE JUDGE IS NOT REQUIRED TO ACCEPT ANY PLEA.   A FEDERAL JUDGE IS GIVEN UNLIMITED AUTHORITY AS HE SHOULD. 

FOR THOSE WHO WERE LEFT OFF THE SUPERCEDING INDICTMENT ---IT IS USUALLY PROOF THAT THEY WERE THE INDIVUALS THAT COOPERATED FIRST.   THE PROSECUTORS WILL WEIGH OUT THE AMOUT AND IMPACT OF HELP THAT THESE FOLKS AIDED IN THE CONVICTION OF OTHER PARTIES.   THESE INFORMANTS WILL POSSIBLY TESTIFY OR FILE AFFIDAVITS WITH THE COURT---USUALLY STATING THEIR INVOLVEMENT AS WELL AS THE OTHERS.

MY GUESS IS WITHOUT ANY KNOWLEDGE OF THE INDIVIDUALS -----THE INFORMANTS WILL NOT DO ANY TIME AND COULD POSSIBLE HAVE THEIR CHARGES REDUCED OR DISMISSED.  FURTHER, DEPENDING ON THE CHARGES THEY MAY BE ABLE TO OBTAIN THEIR RACING LICENSES AGAIN DEPENDING ON THE STATES THAT THEY IN FACT RACE.  IT LOOKS LIKE THE PROSECUTORS NEEDED THE INFORMATION PROVIDED BY THE INFORMANTS.

EITHER WAY THE FEDS NORMALLY GET THE ALLEGED TO PLEA OUT FOR REDUCED SENTENCES AND I WOULD NOT BE SHOCKED IF THIS DOES NOT GO TO TRIAL AND PLEAS ARE NEGOTIATED SOON BEFORE THE TRAILS ARE TO START.

THE PANDEMIC WAS THE FRIEND OF ALL INVOLVED AS OTHER ISSUES ARE PENDING THROUGHOUT THE COURTS NATIONWIDE.   COURT ROOMS ARE PACKED AND BACKED UP WITH EVICTIONS---FEDERAL LAWS---ETC..   THIS CASE HAS IN FACT SMOOTHED OVER THE LAST SEVERAL YEARS DUE TO THE OTHER ISSUES IN THIS WORLD. 

THEREFORE, I WOULD EXPECT LIGHTER SENTENCES THAT WOULD HAVE OCCURRED HAD THIS BEEN A NORMAL TIME IN HISTORY.

I WOULD SAY THAT EVERYONE IN THE INDUSTRY MUST BE CAREFUL AS IT SEEMS AS THOUGH SOME FOLKS DEFINITELY BECAME WITNESSES.
