Forget whatever the rule is.  What's pitiful are the judges or starters that oversee this.  If I'm a novice watching this, and betting my money on that horse, that's basically the last bet I'd ever be making on this sport.  Little wonder this "business" can't get out of it's own way to make itself viable.

As a better all I ask for is a fair shake. That's why we have judges upstairs. But how in the hell can you not refund or recall that field?

I don't blame the driver. But he should of just turned the horse around or took him right to the paddock!

Starter has control of the field and he should be fined or suspended for not recalling the field!

Why should I ever bet another race at Harrington...I'm done ..I'll bet my 2 bucks else where!

‑The Starter may sound a recall only for the following reasons:
 (1) A horse scores ahead of the gate.
 (2) There is interference.
(3) A horse has broken equipment.
