Nothing will happen. While disgusting-- Simon clearly knows he should not be messing with anyone under 18-- the guy wasn't LE or working with LE. It'll be up to the DA to charge this. And I doubt s/he will. There are just too many legal pitfalls with citizens "stings" to overcome. Even if they did, Simon can afford a really good attorney. And a good attorney would rip this to shreds on several grounds. Hopefully, the naming and shaming will be enough to encourage him to walk a straighter line.

I agree with you, the disgrace has been done & now he has to live with the public annihilation! Although I want him to be charged I can see nothing coming of this other than losing any respect that horse people had for him. This is career ending I believe

On the Chris Hansen vids I've seen there was never an underage person either, just someone pretending in correspondence.  He was in partnership with cops, a true sting. I don't know if this pedo guy has any cop support ( I doubt it or they would have been at the meet) so I don't think this was a "sting" per se but if the texts have weight and can prove it was from SA, that plus this video where he admits he came to meet someone may be enough.

What Simon did was a crime pure and simple.

If the guy was a cop running a sting Simon absolutely would have been arrested.

Just because Simon didn't actively seek out an underage sex participant, when told the participant was 15 he showed up anyway with intent.
