Effective April 22, spectators will be able to attend auto and horse racing events.

Of course, there will be a maximum of 20% capacity.

For the Saratoga Race Course, that's between 10,000 and 15,000 fans.

However, there are still three months to go until opening day, so those numbers could change.

I think people are underestimatingth e effects  of fans on the individual sports and the surrounding communities. Does anybody really think watching all the sport venues that had minimum attendance was the same as if the stands were packed ??????
ASk the atheletes involved and the peoplethat broadcast or worked the events and they all said it wasn't the same...

In addition ask the venues about the economic ramificationsthis thing had on communities like Saratoga, the Super Bowl and World Series sites of the participants.  THIS BAN HURT A LOT !!!!!

I for one couldn't be happier that this nightmare MAY be coming to an end and the hell with all the DOOM and GLOOM ass holes who are only interested in sitting on their asses and collecting !!!!!!

May might happen but we are still in the midst of Doom and Gloom. Who really gives a dammed about the high priced athletes and all their bling. Horse racing at one time may have depended on the on track fans but not today. Biden might be getting shots in arms but now they are saying if you were a host and had Covid with no symptoms the vaccine has not been effective and people are now showing up at hospital ICU's with Covid after their initial shot. So screw the fans and play the game or race with no fans.

20% attendance at harness tracks in NY will mean they will still only have 5% attendance.
