Harness racing is nothing but hypocrisy. If this law had been in effect, about a third of the names on these lists would be out of the sport for life, and some would be residing in prison. I now see on United States Trainwreck Association website, they are highlighting a lawsuit brought against HISA.

     Sincerely, Silent One

This law isn’t about integrity.
Its about control.
Ability to manipulate the rules without due process.
The law is an end around on the rules of racing.

Read the actual law.
Its disgusting.

This list is not from USTA. The USTA opposes HISA because it doesn’t separate the breeds so therefore owners and trainers in harness racing will pay the brunt of the fees and be thrown into everything done for the t-breds including all funding and medication laws. Now the HBPA is suing because no one signed up for this. http://ustrottingnews.com/racehorse-owners-and-trainers-file-lawsuit-to-stop-unprecedented-federal-authority-given-to-private-group-to-regulate-the-industry/

only in America...legaliz e pot and some states legalizing heroin, but I cannot give my horse an aspirin?
everybody loves a winner, you are only as good as your last race.
local racing jurisdictions and USTA have not done enough to level the playing field.
This is a paradoxical situation....not any easy answers, I don't know what to hope for.
Every one likes to think they have an edge....and if your edge is better than mine you must be cheating.
The paradox goes on and on.
We used to bring dose syringes to the paddock, spray cans of ether, blue lotion, Tuttles or Stems for a post race bath...now you can bring a sponge and a scrapper.
Therapeutic anti-inflammatory's and thresholds for pain medications would be humane.
If HISA can provide enforceable oversight with an equitable expense to owners I think its worth taking a gamble on.
