I agree, but I'm sure others will disagree & have some snappy comment about his weight.

The race call is fine, BUT races 8 & 9 had a CLEAR & EASY TO SEE WINNER!!  The most important job for him is to “name the winner”-NOT TOO CLOSE TO CALL!! If he can’t tell/see the winner, shouldn’t be doing the job! Here’s a suggestion-GO TO AN EYE DOCTOR/VISION CENTER!!

Yes sometimes they look like they could be called. Two weeks ago somebody else had close to your same thought about calling photo when it looked callable, but I'll say again when the photo flashes on the tote its not the race callers job to call the final placing, that's up to the judges.

"n fact, on Friday (March 5) night, management is hoping to up the track’s streak of wagering at least $3 million to an impressive 10th consecutive program.

“We say it often,” said Big M Chief Operating Officer and General Manager Jason Settlemoir. “But horseplayers have really responded in a big way to our low takeout wagering menu. With six of our popular 15 percent takeout wagers being offered every night, it has given players a more realistic chance to turn a profit, "

Saw - I'm a fan of Dave's. A likeable and knowledgeable guy imho. I thought his race calls were very good considering this is new to him.

For what it's worth though, I dont think the commenter above is asking Dave to call FINAL placings but rather just give a qualified indication of what horse Dave thought won. Imho the race callers bettors prefer generally do this - both at flat and standardbred tracks. If you watch the major races - breeders cup, crown, triple crown races etc. it's pretty rare for an announcer to leave the audience hanging especially when its discernible.

Fair point by Scooter & you, I watch a lot of Woodbine/Mohawk and thinking back he does call most close races...........
