if you break you pull your horse up and out of the race
however no refunds that is part of the handicapping and wagering
many times i have seen a horse break and then try to get back in the race screwing up other horses
this should be a no brainer
part of racing a trotter is having them trot the entire race

If you break, the owner, trainer, grooms, breeder, and the guy who shipped the horse to the track should be publicly flogged in the town square until blood appears or you pass out.
