Cal Expo Shenanigans

Pick 3 payouts tonight

Races 3-5.
Winners = 3-1 10-1 12-1
Payout = $126

Races 5-7
Winners = 12-1 6-1 3-1
Payout = $3,088

I thought maybe the earlier pick 3 was a 2 of 3 payout, but doesn't look like it.

Race 5 winner was Lackey on a 4 year old 1st time starter who should have been 25-1.

I definitely consider the first pk3 ending with Lackey short.

Especially since the middle horse was Lemoyne at 10-1 and was not picked anywhere,

Lackey looked like shit but the field was shit just Lackey looked shittier....if thats possible. 11.wp

yes, 3 separate pools. correct 100 percent on being short. cal expo has some handle.  the more tracks handle usually multi race wager pay more than a parley.  that first pick 3 was short no question.

Okay you fucking morons pay attention! 94z.sm

I know it's hard for you hillbilly inbreds to understand simple math or probability. 11.hmzr

Lackey's horse was unbetable unless you ignored the qual break and the fact that he was a 4 year old 1st starter or you knew he had hidden talent.

The 1st pk3 ending with Lackey had a pool of $2,169 with 13 winning tickets.

Lackey was the same m/l odds as the 1 and should have been equal in use in the pk3 even thought he had worse racing lines but the 1 only had 2 tickets bet on him in the pool.

The probability of Lackey being used more by handicappers was slim and none.

The pk3 starting with Lackey had a pool of $4,077 with 1 winning ticket.

Despite Lackey being overbet at 12-1 and the next 2 winners being second and third choices in their races only one winning ticket was sold.

The point Doza was trying to make was the 13 winning tickets in a harder sequence vs 1 winning ticket in an easier handicapping sequence.

If you lock in on pool size and nothing else than your ignorance is embarrassing. 11.dt

Individual final odds is irrelevant in multi race pools where handicappers see the morning line and where the probability of overbetting top drivers is high.

In the first pk3 the first two winners were not picked in the program or by trackmaster.

In the second pk3 the other two winners were both picked 2nd.

So you stupid hillbillies go back to your crackpipes and muck those dirty stalls. 11.dt

win prices are nothing more that a guide as to what the pick 3 pays, nothing more
remember on these multi race wagers it depends on what everyone else bets
there have been times at smaller tracks i just play a $5 pick 3 or pick 4 with all singles just for fun
the odd time it hits it clearly distorts the pool versus the win prices
