https://abcnews.go.com/Business/employers-require-covid-19-antibody-tests-eeoc/story?id=71319374

If its illegal for employers to insist on antibody testing--why is Yonkers the ONLY  racetrack in usa-to implement this??

Asking for a friend.

Is this really true? how about showing us a link? or the info of them mandating it in writing?

With everyone now needing to show they have antibodies, how can they get enough people that fit this rule? Harness racing is a fairly tight community where the trainers and their help are all know. Even the people that just do paddocks. How can this rule possibly work?

Also did it say you have to be positive with antibodies or that was just the kind of testing they wanted it see if you currently have covid?

Update:

SOA of NY provides update on antibody requirement
June 20, 2020, from the SOA of New York

Yonkers, NY — The Standardbred Owners Association of New York is pleased to announce that the MGM Yonkers, Inc. Racing Operations Rider to the MGM Resorts International Seven-Point Safety Plan” (the “Rider”) has been amended to eliminate the requirement that participants shipping into Yonkers present a valid positive COVID-19 antibody test in order to gain access to the Yonkers paddock.

Instead, pursuant to the Amended Rider those participants will be subject to the same onsite screening process applicable to all on-site licensees which include a temperature check and the answering of a series of questions regarding their possible exposure to COVID-19 and any symptoms that they may be experiencing.  If the screening process clears the participant,  that participant will be allowed to enter the paddock and shall proceed directly to the assigned stall(s) (or other designated segregated area(s)) for racing and will remain at such stall(s) for the duration of their horse’s racing activity that day and until exiting (which exiting shall be as soon thereafter the conclusion of the subject horse(s) race(s) as reasonably practicable).

All those admitted to the paddock will be required to maintain social distancing from other on-site personnel at all times, and the SOANY will be enforcing the social distancing component of the Amended Rider.  Masks shall be worn at all times in the paddock, and the previously announced protocols regarding hygiene and other best health practices remain in effect.  We thank you in advance for your strict adherence to these important safety protocols as we resume racing at Yonkers Raceway.

For our family experience with my father's nursing home tests there seems to be a clear answer.

Antibody tests are not the right or accurate test to use when looking for the active Covid-19 virus.

The PCR nose swab is the right and most accurate test for the active Covid-19 virus.

There are accurate antibody tests that will identify Covid-19 antibodies specifically, but those tests take a longer period of time to get results and they are a lot more expensive.

At least thats what the nurses taking care of my father told us.

Companies have flooded the market with inaccurate tests in order to expedite results.
