Scioto Saturday
« on: May 23, 2020, 08:16:29 AM »
Historically the Saturday card draws the best horses --- the best crowd --- the biggest handle of the week.

I was thinking about this when I came home last night from work and I saw the posted handle of 1.05 million...

Will Saturday top it ??  Historically you would say yes.

I'm just not sure about it tonight. Harness fans wager on harness racing... That's about it.... Rarely do I see a runner guy throw some money down on a harness race. Is there enough money to go around and wager over a million again tonight ??

What do ya think ?

I think they'll do close to 1.5 million!!  Only 1 short field, 3 10 horse fields, guaranteed $10,000 pick 5!!  Looks like a competitive card!!  Last night's handle was 2nd highest in SD history, they break the record tonight!!  No other harness tracks, que sera, sera!!

Atrocious racing, multiple no tries and many looked preplanned.

Burke has 6 tonight. You can expect another hat trick. Minimum.

Dinkadoo...are you posting picks again tonight? You seem to be a very good handicapper. Better than i am and i drove the things for many years. I don't wager much but i like hearing other people's opinions on races

Working 530p-530a.  Uggg

Will try to post a couple at a time.

Had a good night but watched hours of Q.

Hoping to rewatch Scioto Friday card for notes.

It’s horse racing one day you look like you know what your doing and the next you aren’t even in the hunt at the 3/4 pole.

Responsibly formful last night...cant complain about any winner....last race 8 ridiculous 20-1 ml...only nonsensical mline delivering.

Of course the 2 hi5s races 9 and 12: winners logical but horsemen lost all credibility after that with far fetched runner up horses...setting up two big prices

We here in canada got to play..and we did with long overdue reduced minimum wagers (20 cent supers and 60cent tris pke w4 and pk5....the pk6 a very reasonable 20cent AND NONE OF THST NONSENSE CARRYOVER looking for one unique winner and thats good.

Obviously were all stuck with another night of qualifiers last race program lines..but ya gotta start somewhere.

Good luck tonight.

race 1
3- Buckethead Fred, very handy tucked off the gate, made a move 3 wide on turn and without asking went by them at wire,

5 - Hogwarts Express, pulled around a tiring one on turn and sat behind a wall with no urgency

Race 2

2 - Southport Beach - Brett tipped top of the lane and a big hold, very nice tightener

5 - Pine Knot Tuff - circled field, fast back half, Page did chase him pretty good.
