I used to get A lot of the Tysons PPV's back in the day. I was always against him. I was always for under-Dog fighters. I loved the Buster Douglas fight. I put the phone by the Tv so my Brother could listen to it at work with his buddies at a planer shop in Ferndale Mi. I now really like Mike Tyson. I actually saw him live at MGM casino a few years ago and He was great! I hope he kicks some ass... tmbz1

TENATIVE late November vs original September date.

You got to be kidding. The guy was a Hail Mary heavy puncher that has been out of the game for some time, just a brawler so now they sign him up for 8 fights against who. Every other fighter who fights him will be one punch away from brain dead just like harness racing, there is no revival to both sports.

Gimmick fight to be sure.  It's America, and in need of entertainment.  Will we bite on this one?  I'm gonna pass.....

I'M a little late, thought I'D throw in some comments. This not a wise thin. Got a collection of different boxin magazines that I bought starting in about 1954 till about 1967. Got about 600 hundred. I followed boxin. Shot up all me baseball cards as a kid with other friends who did also in garage usin BBgun. That was a major mistake. But it's only money, and what is it good for. So I saved magazines. BOXIN,BASEBALL,HOCKEY. Got over 2,000 and they ain't worth shit. But I loved boxin as a kid and followed it until they came up with 20 titles for every division. I always understood smaller titles like each country has their own and then British commonwealth and so forth. But when they got 4 different champs for all divisions just so ELECTRIC HEAD twice convicted KILLER and ARUM could make ZILLIONS of dollars It became ridiculous.
Want to say this. Watched TYSON fight as a youngster. He was a wreckin machine. Reminded of young GEORGE FOREMAN. Both had some hate when they fought. TYSON after prison turned out to be a decent guy. And you got to love a person who takes care of pigions like he did,if he still does. And George found religion and you can't say he has not turned into the nicest guy. Although I question the 20 kids he has had and named them all the same. Find that quite strange.
Back to TYSON: Just so's you all know.

(1) Your all wrong about him boxing professionally again.
(2) He stated after fight that he wants to do just exhibition fights and donate his purse to charity's. He did not state what those might be and who knows what his take would be.
(3) He could not fight professionally at 54. And although I did not pay to watch fight I can with certainty state this: SAW some still pictures of it. MIKE at moment it looks like on STERIODS. That would definatly rule him out professionally. Maybe a next bout should be RAMBO STALLONE,but SLY really way to old. It would be interestin though to see some older retired step in against him in exhibitions. Kinda like the SENIOR leaque in golf although a little different.

I remember watching Mike Tyson in his early years.  He was almost unstoppable.  His Manager and guardian Cus D'Amato kept him on a straight and narrow road.  When D'Amato died; it was a slow path of destruction for Tyson.  Then he met Robin Givens and her drama........thus Tyson went down a slippery slope with the wrong head taking over.    Then he could not keep his hands off women and he went to prison of his own demise....it  really was sad.

There were three men involved with managenent and development of Tyson. The other two beyond d'amato were Jim Jacob's and bill clayton.

My understanding was Tyson had a relationship with d'amato and Jacob's that was trusting and personal. Relationship with clayton was strictly business - money.

Jacob's died shortly after d'amato. That's when king peeled Mike off from clayton. Kevin Rooney left behind too.

New trainers weren't caliber of Rooney. Watch buster douglas fight. I look laugh at local albany clowns jumping into corner between rounds and shouting instructional numbers at iron mike. He gives one of them a total disrespectful look like gtfo. Hilarious!

Tyson respected rooney.
