Samstar can you tell us how long MSOA can lay out 100k a month to keep the place open. Are any other associations paying to stay open to horses.

I am no longer on the board but I do believe that the MSOA has available about 5 months of credit with the Casino that can be used to keep the track open without going into the purse account.  I think that Rich Gillock and the rest of the board are doing a terrific job. We have a ten year contract and for the past several  years we have paid no stall rent. It is easy to complain but these guys are doing a bang up job.

As far as other organizations go, most no longer have a backstretch and those that do are all paying stall rent!

I heard that there will be a MSOA meeting on Friday to see what can be done for owners, trainers, etc.

It will be interesting to see how many of the Meadows great trainers will be on any new list of indictments, or how many are from the Ohio. I think they will have a quite few!!

I understand that a committee has been formed to see if the MSOA can help any trainers but I also believe that the law does not allow the use of any purse money to be distributed without a race.

Anyone that has a working relationship with the indicted trainers might be nervous.

I guess Dover Downs doesn’t have that kind of restriction when they gave purse money out that wasn’t raced for.

Different state, different law. My legal source is very knowledgeable.  The MSOA wants to do anything they can to help horsemen.  They are paying close to a hundred thousand per month to keep the track opened and are paying your health insurance premiums.  There is no stall rent for race horses at the Meadows.  I think the MSOA is doing a great job!
(Even without me! L.O.L)

board will take care of selves, somehow little guys will get fucked always . instead of worrying about owners and trainers, they should worry about the grooms, if owners cant weather storm i guess they should not own what they can´t afford. yonkers gave grooms checks.
