Holland hospitalized   , several grooms in quarantine  .  Drug gang arrested yonkers in shambles.

MGM couldn't be happier. Might have a chance to rid itself of a money loser.

corona mortality rate is 4%
flu mortality rate is .1%

That CFR (case fatality rate) is on the very high end. We have no idea what the exact number is for several reasons. You are right though, it is far more lethal than seasonal influenza.

It's actually, wait for it, a strain of the corona virus.

My daughter is a nurse practitioner in internal medicine and this is what she tells us.

When a virus like a flu or corona virus spreads through a community, the early patients have a higher death rate than usual because these are people who are sick enough with a "flu" to come to a hospital to seek treatment.  Mostly the elderly or those with compromised immune systems.   The vast majority of people who get sick from these viruses usually just feel sick or have a really bad "chest cold" or they have "a bug" and they go on with their lives with Tylenol and chicken soup.  As the virus dissipates into the community to cover a large anount of people, the death rate drops dramatically because  so many more people are proven to have it but do not die.  That is how it resembles the flu.   Overall, the death rate of infected people will be LOWER than 1% because children do not get this virus although they do carry it.   The flu kills kids.  This virus does not.

You’re not going to influence the ignorant people on this forum who don’t believe in science. They don’tt believe in the facts, only what their pea brains want to believe. God bless them.
