i been hearing casey rumors all year, started in feburary.   would really love to see him and how about a winners circle with fitch, donny richards, freeman parker , some of the greats from the past who were a importaint part of maine and the downs.
call me foolish but i still dont believe we have seen the last race meet at the downs. as of friday no one has actually applied for dates in s. maine. investigating? if chinchette plan was serious i would hope things would have been ready to go. maybe mondays meeting.
while much is needed the downs is still doable. i dont care for the way mismanagement has run it but maybe new opperators? waiting to see but racing at ridge.

Does anyone think they will spend money to update anything on that site? Just went to the site. Clicked on Jobs. Says there are many job openings available. I wonder what they are and what the pay is.  Even tried to make clubhouse reservations at the number listed -Call 207-883-4331 X1009 for dining reservations> No one answered. I'll try back it the morning

One of the best is not having the tote board working showing the odds. Last year the #4 didn't display but the other #'s displayed. This year they upgraded so none would work.   So if you are outside watching the races, you have to guess what the odds are. Nice way to maximize handle. Curious: Would it have cost a fortune to bring in one of the mobile odds boards that we use at the fairs. Nevermind: That would put the downs over their budget.
