You're right, Stable. Its been a while. Q lets you drive qualifiers and fairs and the p gets you on most but not all of the regular tracks. It was a long time before I ever drove at Medowlands.

She has only a Qua/Fair license. That is good for the Billings.

thanks- still you can get one of those after banging in the business for less than a year more less?  you dont need any type of trainers license first ?  Just asking

I was a groom for 2 years, then had to go to the usta on Michigan ave in Columbus and pass the written part, then did the rated mile on the track, had 5 trainer/drivers sign for me then i was issued the p license and got turned loose on fair tracks for a year. That was the good old days with the hub rail and inexperienced drivers crashing into each other. Lucky i survived it

I believe that would have been a "F" license good at the fairs only. Then one got a "Q" license for qualifiers. Then after X amount of approved drives and time, the Presiding Judge would verify that you were competent enough to be given a "P" license.

What about Bubby, errr Robert Bonjiourno (the family patriarch)

The USTA should be writing about the Bonjiournos as a "whole"

Or Roberts sister? They seem to get into a lot of trouble, with other peoples money...
It's a great game, if you have the means to play

I've known people who have had NO experience with horses, other than maybe petting, who have gotten trainers and Q/F licenses within 6 months of setting foot on the back side.

It is largely who you know, and whether or not they want you in or not.
