Stable mate came 2nd and placed 1st so trainer still basically got paid (although 1-2 obviously better)

The trainer owned part of the horse that finished second and got placed first.
So he actually made more money after the DQ.

starter has no control of the positioning of the starting gate
that falls on the gate driver

and anyone with half a brain knows they cannot leave in front of the gate
 ngc3

starter could have sounded recall if the wings truly had not been released.  Agree gate driver should be unemployed.  If you are referring to the driver with half a brain knowing - the driver in this case actually does have a clue and is probably one of the best all around horsemen in Canada (pull his UDRS and UTRS).

This one isnt on the driver and he was behind the gate at the starting pole -

That was the worst start of a race period. The starter should have had the inquiry.

Thats crazy, she did not even get a head start, she was under the gate, not in front of it,
she was even with the 6,  at the start,
Bad call judges...

this horse should have been declared a non starter instead of a DQ

would have been more fair to the bettors

then again , handle means nothing as we all know

non starter!?!?! NO WAY then the owner still gets screwed

it should have been a recall or left to stand...but as usual harness racing fucked up again

yes recall would be best
