.

that would be INCORRECT

there is no subjectivity about gaining an advantage for one pylon

people like you contribute to the mass confusion of others

Scroll to page 114, 18.08.02 (c) & after reading I'll accept your apology.

you receive no apology for pulling up outdated rules that nobody enforces.
Your nice near little handbook talks about horses need to pace 2:06 to get into a race.. so these guidelines you posted are about 50 years old and nobody pays any attention to.

Some people can't be helped. Check out cover page for date issued. I know the feeling of being wrong & it's not nice but when I am I fess up. Try it sometime, it will liberate you.

PS: If you think there is an updated version from last year's edition, just scroll to the bottom page where you'll find the phone number to call to get the newest edition. gl

The link I provided below is the 2018 edition of the racing rules. They are forever tweaking rules so there may be addendums to those rules. For sure the whipping rule has been modified since the 2018 edition was printed. Call the # at the bottom of the document for more up to date info.

They only take down drivers they dont favor for pylon violations.

very true indeed... they took the driving legend dean collins down two separate times when he won
at a very nice price.. he went inside one pylon right before the qtr pole...

i saw merriman go completely inside a pylon turning for home recently and won by a head
and no inquiry at all.

many more instances too numerous to mention but you nailed it on the head with that statement
you cant lose if you dont bet

It also states in the usta rules book that s driver shall have a line in each hand from the start to the finish. Im pretty sure that one isn't enforced.
When the pylons first came out we were told that if you went inside 2 and got lapped on then you were placed back 2.  Go inside 3 and you get set back to last. That was rarely enforced after the first month. We were all going inside at some point in the race. In the end it comes down to the judges discretion.

'Pylon violation rules' gave judges further latitude to invent their own official race finish order.  A very dangerous tool for judges to have who might be a bit unscrupulous or have a bet on the result.  Sorry folks...FACTS

Pylons have just muddied the water..just the way those 'controlling the results' needed.

Why be at mercy of judges stand when you should only be at mecy of the drive.

Hitting a pylon is like hitting the hubrail but with no give.  you leave the course, for any reason, you should be eliminated from the contest! Pylons are there for safety and not meant to be hugged so tightly because there is no fear of flipping over them.

GOING AROUND PYLONS AND STAYING UP ADDS A BONUS ROUND TO THE CONTEST
