The trainers should pay the caretakers what they deserve and not beg for donations.

this is an industry wide issue not related to one or two specific stables
I am not that close to it but these folks work very hard and long hours
I know they get some extra cash paddocking but that is not enough
I think they should get a % of the earnings just like the trainer and driver
give the trainers and drivers 4.5% each and give the grooms/caretakers 1%
no one who cares for animals worth as much as some of these are should be living barely above the poverty line

Are there any other large stables where grooms rub so many horses per person??? 100% agreed they SHOULD NOT be begging for donations, pay them better give them 1-2% etc.

Facts are this, once minimum wage went way up in Ontario,  plenty of grooms left. Tim Hortons gives benefits, vacation two days off a week etc

Correct...many just give 2% of stakes winnings to individuals with top horses as well.  Some take it a step further and divide the whole 2% amongst the whole crew, wich seems fair, unless a crappy year, then what?  flat rate?

Anthony is making ALL the money with his bullshit scheme. He should pay them better and not ask for more from his fractional owners that are already losing money. Typical that he wants others to do what he is supposed to. It takes balls for him to ask for this.
