There is one MAJOR reason tracks cancel now over simple weather changes vs. the 70's & 80's.

SIMULCAST RACING!

In the 70's and 80's no racing meant NO MONEY!

No money for purses, no money for tracks and no money for horsemen.

Nowadays with purse accounts constantly dipping into the red the tracks have a quick trigger finger to cancel races.

Dark days money add to the track's profit and add a small amount to the horsemen's purse account.

Harness racing has become nothing more than a welfare program funded by casino's and tax payers! 11.gn

and we raced..

now adays if it looks like rain they fckin cancel
