Not saying it doesnt happen, but I know if a driver does not drive in an effort to give my horse the best chance to win, without abusing the horse to the degree where that race could negatively effect him in the future, he aint driving for me anymore. This with the understanding that they do make mistakes. If a driver does not want to communicate to the owner, driver, groom about any issues, then he can find some other horse to drive. If other owners or trainers allow drivers to purposely drive in an attempt to give the horse a lesser chance, thats their problem. Everyone has eyes, its not rocket science. Trainers/owners who would allow that, are either stupid or in on something. Drivers damn well know that if they are "playing" around, their driving opportunities will be less and less.
