This is a F'ing riot, if true. What a meeting that could be. Oosting, Smolin, Carpenter, Warren, and Curtin meeting with the Governor, that would surely be the end of harness racing in Illinois.

Ohio had virtually no professional horse racing industry ten years ago,” said IHHA board member Angie Coleman. “Since allowing casino gaming at racetracks, Ohio has seen a horse racing boom. New tracks have been built and thousands of agribusiness jobs have been created to support the industry there.”

IHHA, Integrity- Horsemen Haven't Any. Nothing but bullshit. Ten years ago, Ohio had four tracks operating. Even when the purses were garbage, they never had a shortage of horses. They had two tracks operating simultaneously, for most of the year, as they do today. Ten years ago, Chicago had three tracks operating, Immpral, Gaywood, and Hawful race course. The only good news from that article was that around 140 foals in 2018. Hopefully, this number will continue to decline so they can finally stick the final dagger in harness racing in Illinois. The whoresmen AND management have done everything they can to kill it, so let it die.

Angie Coleman is an idiot. angbk

Bob Farrington, Rambling Willie, Hiteman, Ledford and many other famous/infamous Illinois horsemen came from Ohio.

The Little Brown Jug started in 1946! ngc3

The 1946 crowd was estimated at 27,000 people! tmbz1 ngc3

The Ohio fair circuit was considered the best fair circuit in the 70's.

Good thing casinos came to Ohio or harness racing would never have taken off. 63xz.2

Steve, they went home for the night. Madigan having them come back for the weekend. They still have 7 or 8 things to vote on and gaming is one.

Even though I think it's too little too late for horse racing I still want this to pass. tmbz1

So my question here is are we now at the 3/5's majority vote requirement to pass? angbk
