GURALS SANITY PROBLEMS CONTINUE

IS THERE A 25TH AMMENDMENT TO HAVE AN INSANE JEFF GURAL REMOVED FROM HIS POSITIONS AT THE MEADOWLANDS?

FROM DRF
Following a wet summer at Monmouth Park during which 80 of 231 scheduled grass races were moved to the main track, the beat has unfortunately continued into the Monmouth-at-Meadowlands all-turf meet. The Friday opener was canceled Tuesday due to wet course conditions.

The hope is that the Meadowlands season, which will now be five days, can get under way Saturday. First post is 7 p.m. Eastern.

It rained Sunday and Monday in northern New Jersey, and more precipitation was possible Wednesday and Thursday. Hurricane Florence was scheduled to come ashore in the Carolinas early Friday and could send rain and windy conditions north.

John Heims, the director of racing at Monmouth and the Meadowlands, said the cancellation was necessary because the course would not have dried out before Friday, even though it had been rolled several times to push moisture from it.

Although the turf is wet, it “is in perfect condition,” according to Heims. This meet is the only time during the year the Meadowlands grass course is used.

The six-race cards provide North Jersey residents with their only annual live Thoroughbred racing. Cards are scheduled for Fridays and Saturdays through Sept. 29 at the comfortable Meadowlands facility, which operates as a harness track, simulcast center, and sportsbook the remainder of the year.

FROM JEWFIE GURAL

Today, Wednesday, September 12th track officials at the New Meadowlands Racetrack were befuddled to find out Monmouth Park canceled the turf races this coming Friday, September 14th.

“We have no idea why Monmouth Park officials cancelled racing this Friday, September 14th other than a possibility of a shortage of horses” the tracks Chairman Jeffrey Gural stated. “Based on the current weather forecasts and our trackman’s advise and knowledge that the turf is in fine shape we should be racing”, Gural continued.

73cv.2 don't understand this sentence from above:

"The six race cards provide New Jersey residents with their only annual live thoroughbred cards."

What are they racing at monmouth? Isn't that an annual live thoroughbred card in NJ?

Turf war?  Did somebody say Turf War?  Jewffrey just can't stop whining.  Sure don't act like a Savior.

https://www.app.com/story/sports/2018/09/13/nj-racing-turf-war-erupts-between-monmouth-park-new-meadowlands/1287872002/

Long-festering issues between New Jersey’s top two racetracks bubbled to the surface Wednesday amid a barrage of finger-pointing and accusations over things like soft turf and missing dirt, raising questions about the relationship between the New Meadowlands Racetrack and Monmouth Park moving forward.

The opening salvo was launched early Tuesday afternoon when a press release from Monmouth Park indicated that ``due to heavy rain the past 48 hours and a forecast calling for even more precipitation, the Meadowlands Racetrack will forego its scheduled Friday all-turf thoroughbred card,’’ which was supposed to be the first of six dates in East Rutherford this month.

New Meadowlands operator Jeff Gural hit the roof, delivering a blistering response on Wednesday, indicating it was officials from Monmouth Park, which just completed a 52-day meet in Oceanport on Sunday, who called off Friday night’s card nearly 80 hours before post time.

``I think these guys should just admit the fact that they don’t have enough horses,’’ Gural said. ``It’s very bad for us. They have asked for six dates. And it they’re going to scratch then they should scratch on Friday morning when they go and look at the track. Not determine on Tuesday morning that they think it’s not going to be safe. The guy who handles that track has been doing it for 41 years. If he says the track is going to be fine, then the track is going to be fine.

``It’s very bad for us. We had big groups coming on Friday that we had to cancel. They made a commitment to race, and if they want to cancel they can cancel on Friday morning, not Tuesday morning.’’

According to Dennis Drazin, the chairman and CEO of Darby Development LLC., which operates Monmouth Park, the weather reports they were getting indicated more rain would be falling this week on the already saturated turf course.
