CHEATERS DO PROSPER
« Reply #9 on: September 05, 2018, 07:07:25 PM »
The old adage : Cheaters Never Prosper  *  is being disproved more and more and more in our lightly regulated sport.  MLB turned an eye for many years, until players and fans demanded oversight.  Oh, sure - there are still clever scoundrels that sneak in PEDs; but, by and large - they committed to regulating their sport.  Ever recently, there are trainers outperforming all others by astonishing percentages.  Why?  it's almost as ridiculous as when basketball-headed Barry Bonds virtually rubbed it in people's faces as he lugged his nasty-ass self to the plate and smacked yet another muscle-boosted dinger.  What's almost impossible to believe is that horsemen, gamblers and fans alike snap there fingers, shrug their shoulders and mumble, Well, Aw-Shucks that's just the way it's always been.  Cheaters are stealing from owners - other trainers - drivers - gambling public - AND, the horses.  By silence - the horse racing community is protecting these louses, just as much as the lacksadaisical associations and state commissions.   It makes me furious ! angry ! pissed off ! AND, By Golly ^ it's long past time for honest horsemen of real integrity to speak up

Especially when the owners of the track have horses racing there. No conflict there. ngc3

Could not agree more. However, the difference between MLB and the Horse industry is the fact that Congress got involved with MLB and basically told them if you don't clean up your act, we will. Until the Feds really get involved in cleaning up Horse Racing, cheating, which believe me starts at the very top, will unfortunately continue, as the crooks are basically printing money without penalty.

I think in, for instance, the great Buckeye state - or the great Keystone state ... the OH / PA R Commssion has the go-power to put in place a FAIR condition if a trainer is exceptionally successful.  Now, could be that they are on a hot streak - however, if not > what's so unreasonable as to place their stables in a restricted barn ?

W/ the addition of the casino $$$$$, this is now BIG ! money.  Time has come to act like it - instead of continuing like minor league yahoos.
