And hopefully when the reduction of funding does occur, it starts with the overnite racing part of the equation. No reason to save the ma and pa racers, they no longer add anything to the sport.  Keep funding the stakes and the breeding end of the business. The 2, 3 and 4 year old part of racing is so much more visible and income producing. They at least pay their fair share.

BR could only race 2 days a week So what did they do Instead of having more money to carry over for next yr they RAISED purses so who benefits? THE SCUMBAGS who couldnt  win a godamned race any where but here They should have made out $10000 checks to the few honest hardworking horsemen they have left Chemists running wild up there and of course nobody cares SAD Batavia will be just as bad More worried about how many buck hot dogs their gonna sell than going after the no goods Weiner dog races will highlight their meet

I am on board with this ideal. And , if done well, it may increase demand for breeders and the yearling market. One consequence is; what do you do with all the older horses if there is limited racing opportunities?

Brilliant thinking moron! Breeders are going to flourish when the market is over run with worthless 5+ yo horses! Why don't we clone more Amish men to buy them ass wipe?

Totally disagree from a bettors perspective the overnight races are what matters and what and gamblers coming back and hence what keeps the sport alive. Realistically who wants to bet on the race with lightly raced horses And looking at qualifiers when you can bet on a full past history - Why should we be forced to bet on two and three old lightly raced animals when we can bet on seven and eight-year-old horses with the full Pedegree and race history
