Doesn't this make him more pathetic than? He has a 'pedigree' of being a BC winning driver and guys like Jimmy Daniel (makes good sausage?) are outdriving him. Kind of land on the Anderson being more pathetic since he has his old man's juice for years and is left with nothing. Is he lazy or didn't learn a thing from the old man? By all accounts (all on here), Smolin's old man is a bum and wasn't a leading trainer for years.

If I made a list of drivers/trainers who heavily used cocaine & amphetamines in the late 70's and early 80's (when I was there) and then made a list of drivers/trainers who didn't, which list do you think would be shorter?The list of drivers/trainers who didn't of course. Smolin is a saint compared to some of the dirty stuff that used to go on in the backstretch. The IRB, Stewards and track management allowed Clarence & Randy Jacobs to claim Charge Plate out of an $8,000 claimer off of their own owner after telling the owner the horse was just an $8K claimer at best.They went on to win over $450,000 in the FFA's with him! How much more corrupt can harness racing be then that?

If smolin drove those gassed up horses of little joes he would have won more races than Ryan. I have used both on my horses and I'll take smolin any day over Ryan. On the other hand Ryan's daddy was one of the best drivers.
