We should drop Memorial day as a Holiday

  According to todays democratic party, No war is a good war. So why celebrate anyone who died during one?
Lets change the name of the day to National Protest day, where everybody takes off work and shuts the country down. No stores, no movies, no television, internet, and above all NO gambling! 
Can you imagine how many shootings we will have if family is forced to spend time with other family members? 
But remember, there will be no first responders to call for your shooting.  They are taking the day off, just like hospitals ,all will be closed, IN PROTEST.

Make it a National Holiday in memory of all the kids who died in school or related style shootings. In todays fucked up world, those kids are more important than any soldier ever was.

Two very simple-minded posts and childish. You talk about poor kids in school shootings. Where are the parents of the shooters? Dead veterans gave those same parents the right to raise them any way they wanted. Those dead veterans gave you and Colin K the same rights to post, protest, gambling money that should go to feeding their kids and paying household bills. Those same parents had a responsibility to raise kids as best as parents can and to be there for them. Some became the school shooters, drop-outs, ignorant, drunks, and drug addicted.
Don't blame dead veterans with your ignorant thoughts. They earned that for you and others like you. I put a loaded gun on a table once. I had friends over and told them that their life could be in danger. I told them the gun may shoot one us as we engaged in a conversation that night. After several hours the friends left and I put the gun in a safe place. What to fuck over! I thought guns killed people. I must be ignorant, that gun never moved. Next time I'm going to put a knife on the table.

Furthermore, many of the guys don't know a damn thing about what's going on. Kaep wore a Castro t-shirt while spouting off about the state of oppression in the US. I mean, how much less self-aware can one get? There are a few guys who do walk the walk. Malcolm Jenkins, of the Philadelphia Eagles, is very involved in actual organizations and event. I respect someone that at least is doing something behind the scenes.

You're splitting hairs but at least you get it a bit. 

In addition to the Armed Forces, we are taught to respect and obey Law Enforcement. What then about the Mississippi guys in '64?  The Alabama college kids?  Evers?  etc...

To me, as long as you're not carrying a weapon while protesting, I'm good for all that.

Typical plop.....the ignorant and racist come out of their holes once again.....Memoria l Days honors those who died in military service to our country.   They gave their lives so you could continue to exercise your 1st Amendment right to “free speech”.   So even though you show your ignorant and backward stupidity, you should thank them for dying, in part, for that right.

Personally, I think a little time in a country like Yemen or. Afghanistan, would be beneficial to folks like you.
