I never saw a race based on these conditions:

Pace   **TRACKMASTER CLASS C OVERNIGHT SERIES** Fillies & Mares (horses with trackmaster 79 rating OR below are eligible) (questions on computer rating, please call Race Office) Leg 1 (2 legs & FINAL) (SIMILAR TO "FM nw $2,000/$3,000 in L4")
You no doubt have seen and have somewhat likely run in a race based on conditions defined by Trackmaster ratings.

They may call it something different but this is exactly how Pompano groups their entries and sets their fields early and late in the meet.

It's certainly faster and no less accurate than someone making subjective classification decisions.

It can get somewhat insidious when it gets down to actually setting the race fields in terms of race officials and owners/trainers with multiple horses at/near the same TM Rating.  THAT is where games are played.

If you have two horses, would you rather be

6/1 with each horse running in two races for $6,000
or
20/1 in one race for $6500 and 3/5 in another race for $5500?

I've never wagered on Hoosier Park, however I will wager at least $500 just on the simple notion of tracks(this case Hoosier) offering free programs....Why have race tracks not learned free online programs brings in significant more revenue off online bettors is beyond me.

probably because the company that prints them won't allow it. trackmaster won't divulge how much they make and do offer some free races on a couple of tracks but you can hardly expect them to give away the store for free.
