I must confess that I find the explanation by Rene Allard’s lawyer for his Class 1 positive in Ontario to be rich in language. The race in question was 15 months ago and she labels the decision “ unfair and premature” and the positive rest as “ purported”. I don’t see how 15 months for a decision is “ premature” and that the result can be “ purported”. Of course, they have a right to an appeal and it is possible a different result will obtain. As you know, under our proposed Staking rule, there was every incentive to have any appeal heard as soon as possible rather than delayed. Rene suggests the objective is to avoid “ confusion”; one might see it differently.

 I might add that the claim of contamination and residue test are not new. How about “ I had a Class one positive. I am appealing it with the same arguments I have made before. I suppose it is not surprising I won’t be racing at any of the Gural tracks
