APPEALED - 1/11/2018
POSITIVE TEST- PRE RACE
James T King Jr. being trainer of record on the horse SPANISH DREAM, is fined $1000.00 Dollars and SPANISH DREAM is placed on the Steward`s List for 14 days for failing a pre-race test on January 3, 2018. Any horse that tests at a Base Excess level of 12.4 mmol/l (mEq/l) or higher for a Lasix treated horse is a positive. SPANISH DREAM tested at 12.6 mmol/L. After 14 days SPANISH DREAM must pass a blood gas test and re-qualify to compete in purse events. DHRC rule. 8.9; 8.9.1; 8.9.14.2.1. 8.9.15.1.1; 8.9.15.1.2.All fines are to be paid within 10 days of written rule. Appeals are due within 48 hours of written rule. Mr. King had a judge`s hearing on January 8, 2018 at Dover Downs.

Itís under appeal nothing will happen 12.4 to 12.6 way too close

Of course, the scales had a spiderweb on it.  Its the spiders fault.  See on usta site that another groom must have peed in the stall.  We all know how much horses like human urine..  and wood shavings, and yogurt and on and on..

sample #H-02667 dated 12/6/17 (BUCKEYE GLORY,1st qualifying race)
which contained Flunixin. The concentration is approximately 5000
nanograms per milliliter of plasma. The RCI threshold is 20 nanograms.
DHRC rule: 8.3.2; 8.3.2.4. 8.3.2.6. All fines are to be paid within 10 days of
written rule. Mr. Powell had a judge`s hearing at Dover Downs on December
20, 2017

Not defending the guy or saying he didn't give Banamine.  Im guessing he gave Banamine fairly close to qualifying and didn't get it all in the vein and when they tested the horse they got straight ban amine in their tube causing such a high dose.

Some people may figure there will be no testing for Qua's, load them up with banamine (or more), get a good charted line, and off to the sale. Always wary of all of those horses in the sales with great Q lines after layoffs.

For them to get strait banamine that was near,not in the vein would mean they too missed the vein and that is astronomicly unlikely! Also a vaccume tube will not draw anything from muscle or a void area. That prior theory was a very uneducated guess! DOWNRIGHT STOOPIT!
