Really? 'cause I selected AD before the ML came out. (expert handicappers don't want to see anyone else's opinion before they choose.) And Classic Empire was the ML favorite, anyway.

So I'll tell you what I've said for 45 years as a handicapper...

"I don't pick 'em 'cause they're favorites, they're favorites 'cause I pick 'em."

And I oughta know. I made morning lines for decades, junior....
I'm glad to know your a expert handicapper and a expert at ML great job. Bottom line is you don't like other opinions less they go along with yours. I stated AD will lose the Preakness and if he don't big fucking deal not the end of the world is it pro handicapper?  Btw i don't claim to be a pro like yourself, so if I'm wrong it's ok but you on the other hand claiming to be a professional know it all will be bad..

“He continues to show us all of the positive signals that we’re looking for,” Pletcher said. “His energy level has been good since the race. He handled the ship well. His appetite has been good. I thought he had a real good gallop over the track this morning. It’s kind of what we were looking for, a tranquil, quiet setting, He was focused and on the bridle, but he wasn’t as super-aggressive as he was at Churchill. It’s one of those things; you want him to be a little bit aggressive, not quite as much as he was at Churchill. That’s why we came in early. I thought we’d have a quiet setting here, which appears as though we do, at least for the moment anyways. We’re happy.”

There’s an old adage that says, “The outside of a horse is good for the inside of a man.” Perhaps that sums up why owning a harness horse is such a rewarding experience.

3 races in 5 weeks with various issues does not bode well for him. He could come in second or not even be in the money again.

Royal Mo fractured a sesamoid bone in his right front ankle when working at Pimlico Race Course this morning in preparation for the Preakness Stakes next Saturday and is currently en route to New Bolton Center in Pennsylvania, according to Gary Stevens, the Hall of Fame jockey who was aboard Royal Mo for the workout.

According to Stevens, the fracture is non-displaced but will be career-ending.

"He won't run again, but he'll make a good daddy," Stevens, reached by telephone, said of the son of Uncle Mo.

With a good trip, the prominents in the Derby look to be best again, but a more serious view of the contest awaits.

It is usually a surprise early colt (or a continuing one from the previous Derby field) that messes things up for the crowd at Baltimore: Deputed Testamony, Shackleford ( a very good animal), Rachel, Bernardini, War Emblem, Summer Squall, Snow Chief, Tank's Prospect , Codex, Bee Bee bee, etc.

Long skinny track is prone to an early bias usually.
