Welfare
« on: Today at 11:58:30 AM »
Possibly a reason that harness racing is tolerated by federal and state governments is it is a form of welfare. Among the stall cleaners, grooms, drivers and some trainers there is a large percentage that could not function with the demands of a real job. If racing were to end a large number of these people would end up on state and federal welfare programs. By using money that is derived from gambling, essentially taxing the the other forms of gambling, to subsidize racing it keeps people off of direct welfare. Nobody really cares about the horse. The horse is just a pawn, in that it is needed to perpetuate the system. There are people that have learned to use this welfare system to their advantage. These people know that for this to continue there has to be lax enforcement of rules and regulations. You can drill down into the various racing regulating bodies. You can see they have to have insiders governing to perpetuate this. If you think anybody cares about what is happening in harness racing in my opinion you are clueless.

I am 1000% sure that we all know the one who knows how to work/milk the system the best on this website! I am thoroughly convinced that most wouldn’t know how to run an ice cream stand.

As far harness racing being "tolerated" by the Fed and State governments, so that there is no mass influx of backstretch workers on entitlement programs, I don't buy it. Independent of that, track ownership, state regulatory bodies, racing commissions, etc.-----everyone who is currently governing the sport and the industry-----has failed; they have failed the sport, the industry, and they have failed to protect the horses. Period.

Like them or not, HISA is a change from the current, status quo. Some of the people who are opposing HISA, are not just opposing HISA because they don't like it. They are opposing HISA because they prefer the current, status quo! They are covering their own a$$, wanting to keep their jobs, wanting to keep status quo, and wanting what the current is-----that is nothing more than endorsing, enabling, and supporting cheating, cheaters, and criminals.

What good is HISA and how can a group of people who would choose church over gaming help this industry,          Will drivers stop giving up holes for no reason and then the leader rips the horses head off and the two chalks each quarter pull with huge gaps everywhere in the race and this is happening 10 races a day at ONTARIO tracks,      Will hisa tell horsemen that the gate needs a huge stagger,      will HISA tell tracks to maintain there track and make sure the track has give,,,     Will hisa stop huge drop in odds as the gate leaves,,,      Did i not read that HISA is dealing with the horsemen and when does that stop were over paid workers run the show,,     Will HISA tell the judges who make six figures to do their job,,,,        Does HISA HAVE THE brains to go to huge betters and ask them why they are not playing,,     HISA can catch BANKA and MOREAU type trainers and to me thats like catching OJ SIMPSON as its obvious,,  They are a one trick pony DRUGS   DRUGS AND DRUGS and that will bring back zerrrroooooo players,,,,     What guys like GURAL need to do is get help  from his smart customers who live and die this if you can call it sport,   Here in CANADA the hall of fame has KOPAS AND JOHN HAYES AND STEW FIRLOTTE AND RICHARD MOREAU AND BILL ROBINSON DOES THAT seem normal having AL CAPONE anD the pope on the same ticket.

A few years ago the game went on a big time advertisement with the USTA using slogans like racing is fun and even printed out shirts with these slogans and who did they hire to promote the game,,,,,,,HEATHER VITALE who is on a bigger lifetime high than TAMMY FAYE BAKER and they believed this was going to bring in young people as when they saw the racing is fun shirts it would attract thousands of new people and this shit went on and on and every time i watched HEATHER VITALE i would say to myself she is on the good shit and no person alive can be this manic,      When a gambler sees HARVEY PACK OR HOLLYWOOD HEYDEN OR JACK KLUGMAN they feel at home because they represent the feel of racing but today they hire Hisa who no one can relate to and these people in hisa when looking for advice will go to people that only have their interest at heart such as TRAINERS and DRIVERS and big farms and owners and those are the exact people that management has worked with and look where we are today with that group of useless people,    The game needs its media to be like HEYDEN people who on their off day are still living the game and speak with passion as they are true lovers of the game and when i was a kid guys like KOJACK AND KLUGMAN AND MIKEY ROONEY,  HARVEY PACK all gave me the feeling that they truly loved the sport and figuring out the puzzle in huge fields with double didget winners was truly a fun puzzle to figure out and what felt more real than the guy yelling at the TV watching a race and getting a bomb down,   That was the best advertisement the game could have.
