Mohawk Sunday 04Jan

here is an attempt not to have 4/5 shots in my selections

race 3--#6 Muscle Fashion--has been facing better and draws the magical post position

race 4--#8 Macho Polo--ships in razor sharp from Flamboro-should clear early and chop the mile

race 6--#8 Century Inspector--has been facing better-should float out and find a good seat for later

the other 8 races I like the favorite so this, sadly, is the best I have

Race#5-#5 CAPTAIN WANIA 7-2 ML Impressive runner up last start out, picks up James, see what the tote board says.

Race#9-#6 NEW RULES 8-1 ML Big mile last time out dominated FFA earlier last year, seems to be rounding into form.

Race#11-#5 DISTANCE LEARNING 6-1 ML Paid qualifier last start after missing a month, was raced accordingly. This race is wide open, if Galliers works out a trip can get up at a big price.

Best of luck!

  • dougie: IIB, I think the mayor will sign the bill if it reaches his desk. The optics on this issue is bad for the horse carriage industry. Animal activists are adept to using the media to enlist horror and anger by the public.

  • Ignorance Is Bliss: It's now a bill with city council. Public hearings will be scheduled then the council votes on it. If passed it's sent to the Mayor to sign into law. He has already said he's in. Marte just took over, Bob Holden is the actual author of the bill who retired last year.

  • dougie: IIB, I have been reading some of the work Councilman Marte has been doing on this issue. I think he might be successful with passing the 'Ryders Law" Bill this time around. The image of the horse dead on the street has even been seen here everywhere. If the animal activists can get this on the ballot, who knows how the vote will go.
