$61k per race. NOBODY thinks that is good.

Unfortunately it's all relative. Compared to most other tracks not named Meadowlands, Mohawk or Northfield $61K per race is solid.

Gabe is smart enough to lower the takeout on multi-race wagers and is the King of the Drag.

25% increase in handle from where? I'm not buying the growth is organic or the on-air show is better.

Does the serious player actually watch/listen to the talking heads show? IDK but I'd say no.

Maybe Hoosier sweetened whatever deal they have with the CAWs?

If in fact they did have a 25% increase in handle, no, I don't think it has to do with the on-air product/offering/show. Maybe they lowered their takeout, maybe they cut a (new) deal with a CAW group, maybe nobody knows, LOL. Let's see what happens.

Lower the takeout, very substantially, wait, seriously wait, and watch what happens.

They can inch their handle up all they want, but until a new class of individuals start to be the participants in front of the fans, the end is the same, failure without incredible subsidy.

When a track talks about handle increases and provides zero transparency of caw %, it is a complete slap in the face to every single one of their retail players

I treat the following as gospel.

If the increase was from retail handle and was subsequently in our favor, they couldn't write to tell us that fast enough.

Perfect post,     Who watched Hoosier this year and thought the product was good,   Single file boring racetrack with speed winning every race and for years this track was the best track for watching purposes as it was a huge closers track and on a surface that favours a closer trainers like BURKE and others win percentage drops and drivers like Wally at the POMP who put the peddle down start to finish do not do well,    Pruitt has done zero for horse racing and yes he seems like an ok guy but does not care one inch about the gambler.

excellent tmbz1

no doubt the increase in handle is CAW related

tracks don't want bettors being aware about CAWs and their betting after the bell and rebates

they don't want that information out there-they truly believe most fans are ignorant to CAW handle--as does Gural--and I cannot say they are incorrect

they prefer to keep their "retail" players truly believing they are on a level playing field--and some enough are dumb enough to actually believe that

this is why retail handle is plummeting and CAW handle is skyrocketing

After reading this , I'm wondrering why some of you have GDS or JDS. Gabe P. and Joe M. derangement syndrome. I wish my tracks were up 1% say no less 25-30%. I also would welcome any type of handle we could get, damn, be happy with what you have out west. Sounds like LucPark has just run into some back luck lately. So Instead of looking in the mirror you have to blame someone. I commend anyone and any track that could be up that much in 1 season, either they are doing something right or the previous administration was that stupid. Just saying gang
