Tioga has a full Casino license with Craps Black Jack etc. originally Tioga was left out, however Jeff Gural flashed cash and he was given a license. NY will issue 3 more full licenses for NYC that will crush the Casino in Monticello
Didn’t the casino at Monti close a few years ago?

Resort World has a full casino with a hotel 3 miles away from the racetrack.
They also have slot machines at a mall in Newburgh.

Expecting the current owner to invest any monies into the racing side of the facility is foolish. Necessary evil. Unfortunate. Very sad.

Lived in that barn area at YR 40+ years ago and it should have been condemned then.
RR wasn’t bad but that deteriorated fast. Those were the days I guess,
When certain tracks provided ok living space (aside from YR)

Unfortunately it is not only the track owners. The horseman have voted several times to keep the money for purses instead of partnering up to improve paddock

  • SwankToliverA: You're right Rainman, much more than Politics in life. Politics should not end friendships or any relationship really. Most ppl believe what they believe and their minds can't be persuaded. Imho

  • rainman2: yes---as i said earlier  more important things than political differences.  betting and owning horses among other things.  many other people in the world have gone through the same exact thing.  people have to learn from these experiences instead of harboring ill-will from them.  The world is screwed up because of thes things.
