The purse subsidy for Freehold was through 2029 before they closed the track for good.  Sounds like the NJRC is staying silent about this.  I’m assuming if Gural doesn’t get the subsidy he’s not opening the track for the 2 months in February and March.  I’m starting to think Gural may pull the plug on the Meadowlands soon.  He wants a casino.  South Jersey does not want that to happen.  Typical nonsense in NJ.

I think Gural made it known he is giving the casino license 2 more years to happen or he’ll close the track? If that does happen, thank you Jeff for extending the life of harness racing an additional 12 years. If you didn’t save the track then, just think of the ramifications the entire industry would be enduring today. I sincerely appreciate your efforts of “cleaning” up the industry. I don’t think most people understand the reflection of harness racing with not only ALL the positives, but the ability for these criminals to kick the can down the road through the appeal process. The pigs get fat and hogs get slaughtered, let the slaughtering begin.

So there is a battle over the freehold subsidy or handout ?? What’s the problem just transfer the funds to the swamp and lets race out East . You guys walk over dollars and pick up Nickels .

They switched them to fridays and Saturdays late summer and fall to the end of the year. Only dark from September 19 to October 24.

Monmouth has turf races on Fri and Sat at M1 in late Sept and most of October

Looks like those Freehold dudes are out in the cold I guess. Looks like they watered down the swamp product to let some race this weekend.

Tell me about it.  Been getting in every other week.  Can’t wait for pocono to open.

Too bad out of 416 entries the quality of racing for the most part is just horrible. To me it looks like a bunch of Freehold type horses are filling 90% of the card

It’s official.  No Sunday racing.  Wonder if Gural will comment about it.
