Great trainer; horrible driver.  Over the years he has cost some of his horses dearly.  I can understand sitting behind a horse for his first few starts, or if something quirky is going on with one of his horses in races, but he can't find it in training miles...but for any big $$$ race he should just hand over the reins.  His drive tonight on Bond (although was lucky to qualify for the final, while the horse was walking to the finish line) was just brutal.  Go to a 25:4 Q with a rail horse knowing (or perhaps not knowing) you are leaving holes behind you for all of the leavers??  Rivals his drive on Six Pack in the Hambo elim in 2018 which cost Six Pack a chance at the Hambo!!

He has the ability to teach his trotters to leave the gate. Most of his wins are on the front end or in the 2 hole. And even then he's looking over his shoulder to see if anyone is coming well before the 1/2. . He leads the sport in pulling the pocket before the stretch.
