Monticello v Chester at 1:05pm
« on: May 18, 2023, 01:17:57 PM »
Tale of the tape as two races just went off

                       Monticello               Chester
Win                      9493                   6256
place                    2527                   1707
Show                    1891                    994
Exacta                20.068                 10,694
Trifecta               18,603                  8,825
Super                 12,228
Penta                                              1,974
Pick 5                   4,514

Total                 $69.324                $30.450

Purse                  4,000                   8,200

And this is consistent where Monticello outperforms all afternoon harness racing and most tracks in the evening. .

you hear so much about half mile racing --- but what is Monticello doing right that other tracks probably wish they had their handle??

NY for one and built a loyal following over decades!  More handicapping friendly, simpleton, from my own personal experiences can go on very nice runs and using straight / cold numbers not always big payoffs.

You get to know the players - drivers and trainers and they're not always bouncing all over the east coast like the comparison with better and bigger, so comfort for the loyal.  I've gone on great streaks there, but not big and ambitious as I like and I've lost touch over the years so no plans to return betting there and getting to know the new lay of the land - in either, just following some horse and cherry picking races from a huge North American pool typically!   ;D

I'll watch races and then try to catch horses next start. Monticello is a place because of the moderate pools, produce good payoffs when you beat a favorite.

The largest race fixer in the country bets that track every day. A very high % of the action is his money. The track used to cater to that cheating degenerate. He had his own private teller and a table with 3 tv monitors.

Is Lefty's son still involved at Monti?  Yep, couldn't get near Humbert's wives window. Amazing how $$$$ was never exchanged after the betting.

Corrupted many a young and not so young driver.

ngc3 Designated Hitter Bitch Blutarsky, I get it coach  ngc3

In that case we drop the "Senator" bullshit, and - "Special Investigator" Blutarsky, HCS ("Horseplop Crime Squad").

Bro, don't be sending me to no OC social club, I might know some of the "friends of theirs" and the way I've been treated here, and my handicapping failings - start taking bribes!   73cv.2

Pocono Race 2 won by everybodys favorite trainer Gareth Dowse with a newer claim. Even paid close to 2 to 1.  Kind of surprised the horse wasn't bet a hell of a lot more to win especially with a small pool
