Asian Investors have been studying the viability of purchasing
the old raceway.
It could cost as much as $15/20 million  in upgrades to present.."the new
Monticello Raceway".

 Monticello is basically just a track that  exports its
signal.It could be in Alaska ..or on an island..
The fan base plays it..just a matter of how many races they have and
what days the races are run.
why not run 7 -8 cards a week vs 4....nite time and a few
matinees?

Unfortunately my friend I highly doubt the lights around the track even work anymore to run any night time racing ..

Unfortunately, you're right....It is essentially a studio to broadcast a simulcast signal in "off-peak" day and time slots.

Lights work fine. Drove by there one night last winter and they had lights on while plowing the snow off the track.

They need to get The whipping man lights on the side of the building working ..I always loved seeing that lit up on my way down Rte 17

like I say....if I win the Poweraball  I buy Monti....and put a quick
25 million into the place and add hotel and bring back a small casino with
super odds on slots.
I will reboot the "whipping driver" in LED color lights and add
a cafeteria with a Prime Steak Special every Fr and Sa t nite.
