I was betting him in the 1980s. He drove a horse at Hoosier tonight in Race 9. For old times sake, I put $2 across on his horse Brandon's Girl. He is second over and the cover is advancing on the leader before the far turn. Old Lavern pulls out three wide around the turn and, of course, fades in the stretch. Damn, if anybody should know better is old Lavern.
