A "Bloodbath" at the midterms
« on: Today at 05:35:45 PM »
As a moderate GOPer, I have come to a realization that my party will be turned away in tremendous numbers on November 3rds midterms. I always believed that despite the importance of social issues to some voters. it will be the "pocketbook issues" which will doom the GOP. Gas, food, home, and health care costs have soared and angered the voters. Even reliable GOP states will see their ranks thinned as Democrats make inroads toward the 2028 elections. I believe that the GOP could be relegated to minority status in Congress for years to come. The only bright spots. There won't be enough Dem senators to reach the 60 vote plateau to override any Presidential veto. So expect many passed bills and many vetos. Leading to gridlock. And the SCOTUS and their conservative leanings is all the GOP will have left.

It was always said that people post with their pocketbooks and this should be no exception in 2026.  It doesn't help the GOP when Trump says and does STUPID and DUMB things and the GOP won't reel him in on this.

Trump for all practical purposes caused this and the GOP did little/nothing to stop this!  The blame is on the entire GOP starting with Trump.  The 'enablers' of Trump caused their own problems in this also.

If the 'bloodbath' comes to fruition, Many of us (from both parties) can't wait to see who does the "finger-pointing" from this!  The media and the internet won't help the cause in this regardless of which side of the political spectrum you're on!

Don't be surprised if you get 60+ votes to override any vetoes.  Some people could come to their senses and realize the good of the country outweighs Trump [especially since you have a intriguing presidential election coming up in 2028 without any standout candidates from both parties]!

Weather note South Florida for you Dougie--rainy rotten weather all week which isn't helping out early voting.  FYI, I went out in the rain to vote today as I'm heading to Harrisburg for the sale.  Was off today and working thru Sunday.

Hi there Andrew!

Is coming up on 2000 EDT

I just put up a very polite well constructed post on what Dougie mentioned with bonus coverage!

This isn't right/wrong/good/bad, just simply what it is today 27 October 2026.

All we see on plop is that you don't like what I post and see the whining and crying over this!

Canadians find aspects of daily life frustrating, such as high taxes, formalities, and the need to remove shoes indoors. Economic development is also uneven between regions
