Noble salvaged three, but not before burning a ton of $$$ beaten at 1/9 , 1/5 . 4/5, 2-1, 5/2, 3-1

I believe gas trainers are only a part of it.  A complete lack of competition also helped over the years.   

     Of course his great driving ability and massive work ethic had NUTHIN to do with it!
