FACT CHECK:  While it is true that MOST of the purse money is leaving New England, not EVERY dollar.  Race 3 winner’s owner is from CT, and many other owners with NE roots earned lesser (but still substantial) checks for finishing second thru fifth.
The bigger issue is the short fields and non-competitive nature of the races:  all races won by favs.  That said, it would be nice if some of that $$$ found its way into the pockets of the owners whose stock compete in the overnights that keep the industry afloat.

All the Money going out of Town???? The last I checked, Connecticut and Mass are part of NEW ENGLAND.  Lindy Farms is one of the most respected names in Harness racing. They have a farm IN Massachusetts. Not only do they race their own in the stakes, but many of the other stakes trotters are bred by them and sold at major sales because of dual eligibility.  They also race year-round at Plainridge.
The other prominent name is Ducharme, a Mass resident with many of the horses owned by Mass people. Split divisions  give everyone a chance to make some nice money
