Harrington/Ocean Downs. Monday 6/23
« on: June 23, 2025, 06:00:04 PM »
Does this make sense..Its too hot for Ocean Downs to race tonight so they cancelled yesterday for tonight. However, Harrington is racing at the same time the Ocean was to race tonight but cancelled. So, it's too hot for a track that's a hour away but the other track says lets turnem and burnem!

What are the DSOA directors saying about this..Oh, those of you who care about your horse's health can scratch but those who don't give a damn about their horses can race!

WTF!

Way to go

race 1--#2 Primo Maschio
race 2--#2 Lew Not Lou

they wanted to get the 2nd leg for the DBFS (or is it DFBS) stakes

probably why they asked to race

they could have cancelled the card and had these races before noon today

Race 2 shows why Cory Callahan can't compete with the big boy drivers! Pulls on a 1/9 shot and goes backwards with a 19:1 shot!

Thats too bad for Jason. He'll lose those drives. I hope not.

I was wonder why George wasn't using Mikey at Harrington.

  • dougie: IIB, I think the mayor will sign the bill if it reaches his desk. The optics on this issue is bad for the horse carriage industry. Animal activists are adept to using the media to enlist horror and anger by the public.

  • Ignorance Is Bliss: It's now a bill with city council. Public hearings will be scheduled then the council votes on it. If passed it's sent to the Mayor to sign into law. He has already said he's in. Marte just took over, Bob Holden is the actual author of the bill who retired last year.

  • dougie: IIB, I have been reading some of the work Councilman Marte has been doing on this issue. I think he might be successful with passing the 'Ryders Law" Bill this time around. The image of the horse dead on the street has even been seen here everywhere. If the animal activists can get this on the ballot, who knows how the vote will go.
