Their purses have been pretty steady the last few years, with their high priced $40,000 to $50,000 claimers going for $20,000 and their weekly feature $27,500 and the Open going for $25,000. The track who continues to cut purses is Harrah's Philly. When they card a winners over which is rare, the purse is only $15,000.

Delaware owners also get 40%bonus on purses but that counts towards earnings. Maryland gives bonus money not counting towards horse's earnings

I thought it was 20?

One of them was Nick Callahan, always lived on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, then all of a sudden, his home address is listed as Greenwood, Delaware which is just across the Maryland/Delaware border.

They could have a field day if they really looked into the false addresses and beard owners! But that's a can they don't want to open! It would mean having to do some work and earn their high price salaries!

The Callahan and Milby families are related thru marriage, and the Milby's have always lived in Cordova, Maryland. the late N. Frank Milby owned top pacers like Miss Conna Adios and To Ri Boy.

  • Bitter Truth: That Golden Tempo , I'm afraid is  a money burner. Gets so far back. Was in range but just hung and raced even in the stretch. Didn't see a Derby winner in there in my opinion.
