LAMOTRIGINE POSITIVES
« on: September 14, 2024, 12:12:47 AM »
Burke had a positive. He hails from Canonsburg Pa.
Sarah Andrews had a positive. She hails from Canonsburg Pa.
Jen Bongiorno had a positive.
Funny, Burke and Jen's positiver left the door open for environmental contamination, but not Andrews.
Boy, talk about privilege and selective enforcement.
This smells.
I dont know what place an anti-convulsant biupolar medicine even has in horse racing.
When someone gets a positive, do their vets get interviewed?
These drugs don't appear in a horses system by magic, do they?
I just dont get it

The only thing that changes is the name of the drug.

PA needs to call Dr. Gates at Colts Neck Equine and ask him for his records. Bet it will be interesting read.

Exacly but isn't is Dr Kates?

 Eric Kates
D.V.M.

Dr. Kates grew up in the Catskill Mountain region of New York State riding and showing Quarter Horses before attending Cornell University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1978 and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1981.  In 1983 he became owner and managing partner of the practice with the goal of growing it into an exceptional group of dedicated equine veterinarians committed to customer service in all equine disciplines. His practice consists mainly of race horses in NJ and Pennsylvania in the Spring and Summer and Florida in the winter with a focus on lameness and other performance related problems.  He is also available on a consultation basis for hunter/jumper and other performance horse lameness problems within the practice. He currently serves on the Racing Committee of the AAEP, is a former executive board member and treasurer of the NJVMA, past president of the NJAEP, and the steering committee of the NAARV.  With his wife Shari, a practicing attorney, he has 3 grown children and 3 rescue cats named Mr. Big, Sequel and Sammi.  In his spare time he enjoys golf, skiing, and watching, coaching and playing basketball.

This is the Lou Pena vet and Dr EPO as they call him around those parts.
