Yes the sale price$$$ was indeed $425K. Andrew Harris is a wonderful trainer ngc3 ngc3
He finally broke through with another purchase from Carl Jamieson, a now 3yr. old filly Miki Ray.
  I remember for around $200K. Winning a NW1 at Harrah's Philly yesterday in a fast 1:53:2 while
making her 14th start. The field had a combined 2 for 86 lifetime with earnings of $64,500,
bringing Miki Ray's earnings this year to 21,785 and lifetime $32,827. not bad for a $200k
purchase. ngc3 ngc3. Not sure what his deal is with the other two partners, but if he is also
getting a training fee he is NO Dummy! as people make him out to be. More power to him.

Watched Power Code's last race and he raced VERY "greenly"... blew out a bit on the first turn about 6 wide, but moved nicely when asked.. however, plugs pulled and a bit racky-gaited and looked like he was working for a 27 last Q.

I have bought a few horses in my time (mostly trotters).. but don't see paying $425k (IF that is what it was) for this horse, even with the "cushion" of up to $225K for NJ races if he controls them.

  • dougie: IIB, I think the mayor will sign the bill if it reaches his desk. The optics on this issue is bad for the horse carriage industry. Animal activists are adept to using the media to enlist horror and anger by the public.

  • Ignorance Is Bliss: It's now a bill with city council. Public hearings will be scheduled then the council votes on it. If passed it's sent to the Mayor to sign into law. He has already said he's in. Marte just took over, Bob Holden is the actual author of the bill who retired last year.

  • dougie: IIB, I have been reading some of the work Councilman Marte has been doing on this issue. I think he might be successful with passing the 'Ryders Law" Bill this time around. The image of the horse dead on the street has even been seen here everywhere. If the animal activists can get this on the ballot, who knows how the vote will go.
