Are the payouts typically small there, JC?

Oak Grove is dominated by a few and the prices are short and there is no money in the pools.
Monday

Favorites won 7 of 12 races
Favorites hit the board in 11 of 12 races.

In the race JC liked - the second race, his choice ran very well at 6-5 getting beat by the 4-5 shot hence the
$2 exacta paying $5.44.... With just over $17k in the pool for the race. Purse $18k

I did end up watching a couple races yesterday, after I posted. Their pools are pretty small, and I noticed odd payouts.  Example- win $3.98.

Penny breakage is in Kentucky only--due to the revenue generated by historical racing machines

other states use the 'rounding down" formula which provides tens of millions of dollars in extra revenue
