Yes Bello you're right I was warned about the purse reduction on another thread. I was also warned at one point about global warming. It doesn't mean I have to like either of them.

Oh the greed, but they got to make a living and no one is in the plant except for drivers and trainers. And purses at 1980 levels. This will be the outcome until the OTB players say enough is enough and find another outlet.

This was really bad today. Some of these horse should not have been this low or even close.

Condition Sheet listed a NW $150ps for a purse of $2,500. It didn’t fill. NW 200ps filled for $3,000 purse. Any Open version has gone from $7,900 to $6,500. You have to feel bad for the families involved. Costs going up for everything and MR cuts their purses by 10-18%. Can they be more obvious what management is hoping will happen?

I would not suggest betting there right now. Nor would I dare post selections. Handle will be high due to gobs  inside money betting against a us diehards whose money will dwindle with prices like these.

Two issues....
1 they cannot write even remotely competitive races as the horse population dwindles
2. Driver need to make a living.

Closing Pocono for the season will not help. Lots of much better alternatives as the Pocono owners will ship to more fruitful tracks or lay them up for the winter.

Dover opening
YR
Bigm
Saratoga harness
even Buffalo will get some.

Monti will have their same bunch week in and week out. Goes for the horses too.
