I've seriously thought lately, that given the inevitable downward spiral toward extinction, Harness Racing should lean into its white trashiness and shoot for a Hail Mary resurrection ala NASCAR. Concentrate on the uneducated, in rural locales, allow close access to the horses and drivers, and lean into driver "beefs" storylines as NASCAR does. The gambling aspect is all done online at this point, and those people don't physically come out anyway, so try to connect on a grass roots level with people of the same makeup and sensibility as the participants. Maybe something catches, and hundreds of pickups with trump flags start lining the infield of harness tracks. You can have the best of both worlds - online handle from handicappers, and an in-person venue buzz from a potentially rabid white trash fan base. It's all going away anyway. Take a shot.

I have no idea if Walter will get good, quality, live drives or not. I have no idea if trainers with horses who can win will use him. In one respect, it doesn't matter. Walter is a fraction of the driver he used to be. A small fraction. He knows it. Anyone who knows this business knows it. Walter is simply trying to earn a living, if he can. He wants to show up, work, earn a living, and go home. He's not trying to come back and get YR, or the Meadowlands.
Personally, I still think he's fragile, at risk, etc., vis a vis his sobriety. Someone told me he already had a no-show day. Same someone told me that Walter is clean and sober from drugs, but that he has a drink here and there. His choice. Slippery slope I say, but his choice. Me, I wish him the best of luck, for his health, and happiness.....and sobriety......one day at a time.
So you put words into Walter's mouth saying "he knows it" yet he hasn't said that to you himself. You post here all day anonymously. You say a "someone" told you....twice. You also said the email I read didn't exist. I believe the point I'm making is pretty much everything you type is BULLSHIT.

Corrupt like it’s fixed…very small percentage line 3-5%. Corrupt where at least one horse in the race has something illegal in its system, 99%!
All things considered, I think that's pretty close. It's a shame that if you are racing on hay, oats, and water, then you are at a competitive disadvantage. Some say it's always been that way. Perhaps. Today however it is extreme. Beyond egregious. I've long supported universal medication rules, point system, three strikes you're out, massive fines, lifetime suspensions, etc. Yes, the sport and the industry needs massive, drastic reform. I am all for it. But all of that has to come with prudence, with sagacity, with proper and effective governance. What doesn't make sense to me is the negativity and hatred. Thankfully the negativity and hatred here is not reflective of the sport and industry at large. If you hate the sport and industry so much, if you have nothing but negativity to contribute, and you have nothing positive to contribute, etc.-----then get out. Why even pay attention? Because you love the sport? The industry? Yet all you contribute is negativity and hatred, so that's your love for the sport and industry. Good luck with that. All you are doing is vomiting negativity and hatred. There are still many good people in this sport and industry. There are still people who are working to improve the sport and industry. Criticize them and you are showing your true colors. There are still people committed to this sport and industry. On this website, it's pretty clear who isn't part of that group of people.

I think Beckwith has 11 drives in 11 races and is the only one . Why is that?
Of those 11 drives, how many have a legit shot of winning, that's all that matters.

Great Example Matt K has 1.8 mill made to date average it out for the year 5.4 mill driving cool horses to quote you. Case 73,000 so far.
It’s because he wins

Case Jr could make a living at Plainridge. It all depends on the stock. He will win enough if he has power. No one looks good without it. A good example is Kakaley. Alexander was winning like crazy & Matt was on fire too. Travis cools off & Kakaley looks average.

It's because in your mind he's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Was a late claim, if he went for him early he might have gotten lucky. Unfortunately the honest trainer got screwed.
