Title: Burke 2YOs
Post by: polish jola on June 05, 2023, 06:02:26 AM
Only the 1st week of June and Burke has 20,  count em, 20 2 YOs in to qualify this morning at Gaitway Farms!!  How many of these babies will still be around when September comes around???  How many babies did he buy last year at the many sales his Team attended last year? I think it's astounding he can have that many ready so early in the year!!!

I seem to recall that someone (in another thread, so maybe search for Gaitway on the site) posted information about live streaming (perhaps on Facebook).  I know a few years back the Hambletonian Society and Northwood (Northland?) co-sponsored a live-stream for the baby races on Facebook.  If you find the link, please post.

They are having some sort of technical difficulties today.  I've been watching this stream for the past two years and no problems before.  They have guests and give really great info.  Im sure they will clean it up.

Starts with about 80 yearlings, he's not scared to shit can one. Some he has already turned out, he'll bring back early. They all get treated the same, they don't get trained in 3 min, it's down the road. Speed

I think only at the stream.  Hopefully they will fix it.  I didn't try to watch till a little while ago. USTA site does have the charts.  Look at todays races under the fairs button. They have the first five races posted at the moment

he's got a lot of Sweet Lou's

Sorry Dink but that a MOTO statement.  He's had more SL's than anyone in history for obvious reasons.

He's got 23 in tomorrow!!  Almost 50 in 2 days!! They don't start writing races for another couple weeks!!  I guess they'll all get 2 or 3  Qs! If they ain't worth 2 dead flies, you are right, he'll send them packing!!  Can you imagine the training bills he's collecting each month??  I'd say it is up in the 100-150k range, and that might be low!!

Considering he and his partners own 90% or more of the stock I'm sure the training bills are not the emphasis here.  How many people must he employ to train and rub all these horses? His outgoing bills and payroll have to be huge.

And  an owner calls up and says "Hi Ronnie how did my little filly do"?
"Ah Lets see I only have 25 little fillies plus 25 big fillies"

Sometimes you know before June 1 if a 2 year old is actually going to make it or not.

He will flood the upcoming stakes races with all his 2 yo's and drivers.  Makes it hard for the little guy to compete.

Something you might want to consider before you bet.
If you are a 2nd tier catch driver, and you would like to get  drives from Burke. how would you drive when racing against Burke horses?

If anyone could break the code, and turn a 2 yo into a junkie, it's Ronald "Ron" J. Burke, 6' 5" cowardly, cheating cocksucker!

I'll be dealing with you too very soon.... ;D
